Reimagining how people live, move, and connect
SuperApp was the core brief of Teknofest Istanbul 2025, a hackathon inviting teams to reimagine the role of digital platforms in everyday life. Together with NSosyal, a national Turkish social media platform, participants were challenged to transform it into a multi-module ecosystem that could integrate communication, commerce, mobility, and payments into a single seamless experience.
The promise of integration
We centered our concept on integration. It was not only about assembling multiple modules into one app, but also ensuring they work together as a fluid, connected system. This idea of modules that “talk” to each other was what resonated most with the judges and ultimately crowned us as winners of the competition.
36 hours in motion
Over 36 hours, our team navigated challenges, surprise design tasks, and cultural barriers as the only foreign participants in the competition. Careful pre-event planning and task delegation gave us resilience. At the same time, spontaneous challenges such as creating a logo and aligning philosophical narratives pushed our creativity under pressure.
When social meets commerce
From missing “message driver” features in food delivery to the lack of transparent user-generated reviews, we proposed a Social Commerce model where users do more than transact. They interact, share experiences, and build trust.
Beyond Istanbul
Our work did not just win Teknofest Istanbul 2025. It also highlighted the broader opportunity of SuperApps as cultural infrastructure. In Indonesia, with platforms like Gojek, Tokopedia, and TikTok existing as silos, the potential lies in weaving them into one ecosystem. The future is a place where communication, commerce, transport, and social connection converge seamlessly.
